Letter from Robert C. Wood, a Confederate cavalry officer writing from Jackson, Miss., to Brigadier General Wirt Adams, discussing the disposition of a shipment of Enfield rifles received from Charles Clark, governor of Mississippi. Wood expresses his displeasure at having to distribute the rifles to seasoned Confederate troops rather than to the new battalions serving under him.
